Sir,
IS UDOM STILL RIGHT?
Since you left for Abuja to discharge your duties as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing the good people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district cum Akwa Ibom State, we have been gracefully led by your Successor; Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel on sustenance of superior performance in many ramifications.
We have come full circle to settling for governance after the supreme court ruling but we are bothered on your silence knowing that you are not the type given to silence over issues that points arrows at you, may be you are not in the know that we expect words from you even though you are not directly overseeing the affairs of the state as before.
Should you not have been aware of the caricature attached to this letter, I wish to bring to your notice that this shame did exist before the primaries that brought Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel as Candidate of The Peoples Democratic Party, the only party in opposition that is still more powerful than the Party at the centre.
It is on record that you said; you will be too busy at Abuja to be controlling the government of Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. This you said when debunking accusations from our opponents from the other divide during the campaign, but the contrary seems to be the order of the day. Local tabloids and even the new media are being inundated with news of your desperate moves to still control the system using your loyalist to make governance to the very man your said was the best after a copious search through town hall meetings a living hell.
It’s because of the deafening silence from too many quarters and most importantly from you that makes me write after wondering and even shouting my heart out that I’ve chosen to write you and inquire if; UDOM IS STILL RIGHT?
The question is very simple and requires a very simple yes or no. You are a busy man, but you can make a phone call to Atlantic FM as you have done before, You can instruct your media aid to communicate back to us on the new media; Facebook or you can come back home and speak to people for we are worried that things might have fallen apart and the centre cannot hold.
Our brothers and sister who have chosen to make themselves our opponents, not enemies but opponents are fully expecting a fight from the predecessor and the successor but we wish to diffuse such, hence this letter.
Before I continue bothering you with too many issues back home, may I congratulate you for making us proud in your legendary Leadership style as the Minority Leader at the Red Chambers. We sure are proud of you though we miss you. Keep making us proud out there.
Of all the issues that bugs our minds is the issue of Who becomes The Next State Party Chairman of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State in the forth coming congress. It is common knowledge that #AKWAIBOMISPDP and that PDP is like a Religion here, and that means this party belongs to all of us, thus our contribution matters no matter how lowly placed many of us might be as compared to the likes of you blessed with what only the gods seem to posses.
Senator Sir, its rumoured from many quarters that you intend to foist Obong Paul Ekpo on the Governor; Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, as State Party Chairman. This assertion has been on for quite some time now and you have not said anything. Your silence could mean this to be true. If this is true, then you have not kept trust and faith with your people when you said you will not be in control from Abuja. We want to believe this rumour to be false; hence we want to hear from you.
You in your wisdom gave us a direction to follow under God and you said that direction was The Best, we sheepishly followed because we believed. Now we seem to be at a cross road because your Fatherly Shadow is still hovering around sensitive decision making process in the state, though no one is complaining yet we can feel the body language is not comfortable. Too many are dragging your shadow to becloud our sense of reasoning and we want you to clear the air once and for all; #IsUdomGabrielEmmanuel Still Right?
If he is Right, should you choose a State party chairman for him? Is he not Right enough when it comes to party matters? Do you know that if he does not have the Right of way in this matter, that he will go down memory lane as the Governor that Never Governed courtesy of you?
You are one man I know is full of wisdom and that the solution to this already resides with you.
Please call home and set things #RIGHT before too many take advantage of your shadow and spoil things for us.
