GODSWILLThe Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, has pledged to build a new hostel for the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, Anambra State.
Senator Akpabio made the offer Thursday, March 17, 2016, while delivering a lecture as part of events for the school’s 7th Convocation Ceremony.
In his lecture, “The Nigerian Question: Ethics in an Age of Uncertainty,” the Senate Minority Leader called on Nigerian leaders to uphold ethics and morality as part of efforts to curb corruption in the country.
Senator Akpabio, who defined ethics as doing things that are right and moral, commended the Federal Government for fighting corruption but stressed that it should be done across board.
He also advised political leaders against cross carpeting, saying it was mostly done in selfish interest.
the Senator assured members of the National Assembly would continue to maintain ethics and good moral behaviour in making laws in the interest of the masses.
Speaking, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Fidelis Okafor, commended Senator Akpabio for his promise to build a hostel in the institution.
Professor Okafor urged students and graduates to imbibe the spirit of morality in life.
