Players and officials of Super Falcons are still left frustrated in Abuja after the Nigeria Football Federation failed to redeem its pledge to pay the team yesterday, December 5, 2015.
The team which won its eighth African Women Cup of Nations title after beating hosts Cameroon in the final on Saturday arrived Lagos on Sunday and was moved to Abuja with a promise that allowances and match bonuses of players and officials would be paid on Monday when banks opened for business.

But as at 8pm when New Telegraph correspondent contacted the Agura Hotel camp of the team, no official of the federation had visited them for an update on a proposed reception and payment of allowances.

“It is true no one has contacted us from the NFF, they said we were going to get paid today and but we have not heard anything concrete, except that somebody called around 6pm from the office that Amaju Pinnick will come today to see us but he was not certain if he will come with our money,” one of the players told our correspondent.
