Novone Consult Limited has reassured Akwa Ibom residents of its readiness and commitment to complete the first phase, 30 Units of sustainable semi-detached bungalows, of the National Social Housing Estate in March 2018.

Interacting with journalists in Uyo recently, its Principal Partner, Arc Ezekiel Nya-Etok, said the Estate, which is the only Social Housing Project in the country with 100 units of 3 bedroom semi-detached bungalows gated with complete onsite facilities, is located opposite the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital.

He encouraged residents, particularly the civil servants to take advantage of the Social Housing Project.

According to the Principal Partner, “Our intention is to ensure that as much as 40-50% of the units have Civil Servants as beneficiaries where they will enjoy certain concessions, and also be availed of the National Housing Fund Mortgage facility He added, “This will be one of the few estates that come complete with onsite infrastructure and ancillary facilities. We are also in talks with NDDC and AKSG to ensure that the estate is a gated estate with the best of modern facilities.”

Describing the interest expressed towards the project by the Akwa Ibom State Government and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Arc Nya-Etok said the project is designed to be an empowerment scheme to its beneficiaries.

He confirmed that the project would be completed within 12 months, saying that beneficiaries to the project, which include those that balloted for it ten years ago, Civil Servants and the Public, shall get price value of N7million, N7.5million and N8million respectively.

Arc Nya-Etok further hinted that the project, pioneered by the Federal Government, was very subsidized, high quality; durable and thrown open for marketing by private individuals, especially the young people, with a-5% commission per sales.

Residents have, however, appealed to the Akwa Ibom Government to complement the Federal Government effort to affordable housing by constructing the proposed Ring Road, which serves as the major access road to the Estate and whose compensation had long been paid by the Obong Victor Attah-led administration.
