As part of efforts to create awareness and sensitize the public on the current Corona Virus pandemic, Members of the 7th Assembly, led by Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, gave the campaign a huge boost by leading his colleagues in the Legislature to a campaign against Corona Virus.

Whereas the public relies mostly on Medical Professionals for tips on how to keep the dreaded virus away, Akwa Ibom legislators, all wearing large *’LET’S KEEP CORONA VIRUS OUT’* tags, assembled for a brief in the assembly, in order to keep COVID-19 out of Akwa Ibom State.

Speaking at the event, Speaker Bassey emphasized the need for the public to adhere to every prescribed health routine given by Professionals, or call the dedicated hotlines where there are suspected symptoms. The Speaker added that everyone should avoid unnecessary trips, until the scare is nipped in the bud, especially now that tested cases in Nigeria have increased during the past days.

While also advising the populace not to panic or live in fear, the Speaker stated that the State Government is doing everything possible to ensure that the Virus is not tested positive in Akwa Ibom State.

As parting shots, Rt. Hon. Bassey expressed his confidence that the virus is temporary, and will be exterminated within the shortest possible time, while specifically requesting that the campaign to *#KEEP CORONA VIRUS OUT* be made as viral as possible within the State.
