A couple of weeks ago, I brought to your knowledge that the Wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mrs. Martha Udom’s pet project, Family Empowerment & Youth Reorientation Programme (FEYReP) in partnership with MTN Foundation rendered free eye care service comprising of surgeries, reading glasses and medications.
There are numerous testimonies pouring in and one of such beneficiaries is Master Felix Idorenyin Obong, a ten (10) year old, an indigene of Afaha Itiat in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area and a pupil of Excellent Foundation Academy, Ibiono Ibom.
Master Felix who is a second child of his parents was blind from birth but was discovered to be blind at age One by his parents, had been taken to several hospitals and could not get the necessary attention.
Today, he can see clearly after a free eye surgery conducted by the wife of the Governor in affiliation with MTN Foundation.
Mr. Idorenyin Obong, the father of the beneficiary speaking during the visit to Her Excellency to express their appreciation, thanked the Governor’s wife for bringing such a life- saving programme to the state and admonished the people of the state to always avail themselves of any of such opportunity.
