UDOM CHARGES TRAFFIC PERSONNEL TO REDUCE ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAYS

Governor Udom Emmanuel has cautioned motorists to checkmate excessive speeding and observe road traffic rules on the highways so as to save lives and reduce destruction of facilities.

He stated this at the Airport Road roundabout where he stopped to assist victims of a crash involving a Hyundai Saloon car that ramp into a pavement destroying electrical poles and other accessories.

Governor Emmanuel, who was returning from the Ibom International Airport on arrival from an official engagement in Lagos State, expressed displeasure at the recurrent incidence of road accidents particularly along the Airport road and attributed it to recklessness and violation of road traffic regulations.

He called on road traffic personnel to ascertain the worthiness of every vehicle plying the roads and ensure that motorist comply with the stipulated speed limits especially on busy highways such as the Airport road.

The accident victims were given prompt attention by the Government House Medical Team.
