EKET COUNCIL BOSS CHARGES CHURCHES ON EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

The Executive Chairman of Eket LGC and Chairman, Eket Senatorial District COVID 19 Church Monitoring Team, Hon. Frank Archibong has charged Churches in Eket Senatorial District to lead by example as the fight against COVID 19 in the State continues.

The Council Boss gave the charge today during the routine visit to churches across the senatorial district as part of monitoring efforts to ensure compliance of churches with the CAN COVID 19 guidelines and regulations. Exemplary leadership on the part of the church he said was necessary as they play a critical role in shaping society. He frowned at some churches with partial or zero compliance, stressing that sanctions were imminent if the trend continues. Archibong urged worshipers to desist from living in denial or treating the pandemic with kid gloves but obey all laid down precautionary measures as precious lives were at stake.

The Chairman and his team revisited some of the churches who defaulted the previous week and having noticed compliance, commended them for the remarkable improvement in their conduct stating that mosques will be revisited next weekend.

Some of the churches across the 4 Local Governments (Eket, Onna, Ikot Abasi and Mkpat Enin) visited today included Mount Zion Light House, Ikot Ebekpo, Onna LGA, Christian Methodist Episcopal Church,Redemption Fire Ministries Intl,Qua Iboe Church, Nigeria, Ikot Ebekpo,The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ikot Ebekpo,The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Assemblies of God, Abat, Church of Christ, Abat, St. Joseph’s Anglican Church, Anglican Communion, Ikot Edor, Onna, The Everlasting Gospel Church Worldwide, Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Ikot Edor, Onna, St. Immanuel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church etc, God’s Spirit Embassy, Ikot Isighe, Mkpat Enin LGA etc

Other teams headed by the Chairman visited churches in the other eight (8) Local Governments under Eket Senatorial District.
