Aniekan Uko Takes Re-Election Campaign To Less Privileged

Immediate past Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr. Aniekan Uko, has taken his re-election campaign to the less privileged in his constituency for support in the forthcoming rerun as ordered by the Court of Appeal.
Mr. Uko, who represented Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency and whose rerun election is barely 15 days from today, got the sympathy of  the less privileged when the Ibesikpo Asutan Chapter of Joint Association of the Physically Challenged called on him.
Speaking, Head of the delegation, Comrade Ime Benson, said their visit was borne out of appreciation and goodwill to the former Speaker, assuring that they will stand by him come March 12, 2016, date for the rerun.
Comrade Ime, who is Special Assistant to Mr. Uko on Disability Matters, lauded his sterling quality, maintaining that “My contact with the man called Aniekan Uko has taken my life to another level.I have never dreamt of being a PA not to talk of SA which he has appointed me.Sir your generosity to most of us,has endeared us to you,may God restore you to your rightful position.”
In his response, Mr. Uko said he was touched by their show of love and promised to always be of service to the physically challenged, adding that they were part of the society irrespective of their physical nature.
He further assured the less privileged of improved welfare packages and empowerment programmes when reelected.
