As part of his resolve to enhance safety and security in Akwa Ibom State, Governor Udom Emmanuel has donated two Hilux Utility Vehicles to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
The ceremony which took place at the Government House premises, saw the Director of the Special Services Department, Mr. Aniefiok Thomas, handing over the vehicles to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Don Anwunah.
The Director reiterated Governor Emmanuel’s commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and properties of the citizens at all cost.
He said the government would continue to provide adequate support and tools to enable effective and efficient performance by security services in the State.
Mr. Anwunah who received the keys on behalf of the State Police Command, expressed appreciation to the Governor and his team for the unwavering support, concern and passion for the overall safety and security of lives in the State.
The police commissioner assured that the vehicles will be effectively deployed to achieve the intended purpose.
The Personal Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Joe Ikpak, two administrative staff of the Special Services Department Governor’s Office where also present to witness the event.
