2019: UKPONG-UDO COMMENDS DELEGATES, SAYS VICTORY IS FOR ALL


Winner of Ikono/INI House of Representatives ticket for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, has commended the delegates for keeping faith with him during the just concluded primary, saying his “victory at the poll is victory for all.”

Obong Ukpong-Udo, while reacting to his victory in the primary election held in Uyo Township Stadium on Thursday, appealed to his co-contestants to work with him to improve the living standards of the people of the area and the development of Akwa Ibom State.

“The victory was for the entire people of Ikono and INI Local Government Areas and Akwa Ibom State. It is victory for PDP, victory for justice, victory for equity and victory for fairness. The end of the primaries is only the beginning of the greater work we are called to do. We must all go to our various homes, polling units, wards and local government areas to canvass for votes,” he maintained.

Obong Ukpong-Udo, who is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree at Middlesex University, England, United Kingdom, holds a Master of Science Degree in Occupational and Environment Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Chemistry from the University of Uyo.

According to his profile, he attended Presbyterian Primary School (PCN) Edem Urua/Itu Andem in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, and later the Prestigious Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) and Senior Secondary Certificate (SSCE) respectively.

To fulfill his aspiration of becoming an Oil / Gas Engineer, he has attended several other institutions and reached the apex of the academic hierarchy, a feat that has deciphered him in his career.
Some of the institution and courses attended include Rapid Results College, London (NEBOSH); University of Leeds, United Kingdom (Fire and Explosion Engineering), and University of Sheffield, United Kingdom (Process Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering).
