Barely 24 hours to the deadline given by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for submission of nomination forms for various political offices across the country, the party has announced its decision to extend sale and submission of presidential, gubernatorial and National Assembly forms.
Though the party had earlier fixed Thursday, September 6, 2018, as its deadline for sale and submission of nomination forms, Tuesday, September 11, 2018, has been announced to be the new date.
According to information before Ibom Telegraph, the extension does not apply to aspirants for State House of Assembly positions.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the party, through its Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, has said “The party will on Friday 7th September, 2018 screen Aspirants for the State House of Assembly who have successfully purchased and returned the nomination and Expression of Interest Forms. Aspirants are to submit themselves for screening with their credentials.”
“The state Chairman; Obong Paul Ekpo, has also intimated that the Ward Congress for the selection of Ward ad hoc delegates and local government national delegates will hold on Saturday, September 8 (Ward Congress), Tuesday, September 11 (Local Government Congress),” he further hinted.
