Hon. Okpolupm Etteh of the Eket/ONNA/Esit-Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has added an academic feather to his cap with the award of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Nexford University (NXU).
NXU’s 2024 graduation ceremony took place on Saturday at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, and brought together a host of dignitaries and scholars.
Hon. Etteh expressed gratitude to Nexford University for its innovative approach to education, which allowed him to balance his legislative duties with the pursuit of academic excellence.
He emphasized the importance of continuous learning, particularly in today’s rapidly evolving global economy, and pledged to leverage his newly acquired knowledge to further impact his constituency and contribute to national development.
The National Assemblyman, who is the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on University Education, explained that his academic milestone was borne out of his dedication to personal development and excellence, and his value for education as a tool for empowerment and transformation.
He lauded NXU as a next-generation online university that offers competency-based education that prepares learners for global workplace demands.
The institution’s ‘Class of 2024,’ which included undergraduate (BBA) and postgraduate (MBA, MSDT, MSDA, and MSE), celebrated their academic achievements in an inspiring atmosphere.
The event was graced by the likes of Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 General Elections; Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, CEO of Human Capital Africa; Mrs. Bola Adesola, Chairman of Eco Bank Nigeria; Dr. Jennifer Scott, Chief Academic Officer of Nexford University; Olatunbosun Alake, Lagos State Commissioner of Innovation, Science & Technology; and Mrs. Olamidun Ogundoyin, founder of Sooyah Bistro.
