Chairman of the Uyo Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Uwem Akpan, has assured the Akwa Ibom State Government of its full support and partnership for development and progress of the state.

Engr. Akpan made this known on Wednesday when he led his Executive members on a visit to the State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Orman Esin, in Uyo.

Speaking, Engr. Akpan thanked the Transport Boss for the audience granted, stating that their visit was to formally congratulate the Commissioner on his assumption of office and also sought synergy and collaboration NSE and the Ministry in driving a modernized transport sector.

The NSE Chairman also highlighted NSE’s existing training programmes for engineers to ensure standard practices within the state.

In his response, Hon. Esin expressed thanked members of NSE for the honour done him and promised to ensure that Engineers in the Ministry stay abreast with standards of the body and its activities.

He tasked the body to continually uphold the ethics of the practice to ensure quality and value in the transport sector, while promoting and enhancing the ARISE Agenda blueprint of Governor Umo Eno.

Among the NSE delegation were Engr. Emem Ezekiel, Engr. Nsikak Akpan, Engr. Wisdom Ukpabio, Engr. Anietie Daniel, Engr. Mfonobong Asuquo, Engr. Emmanuel Bassey among others.
