URUAN: STAY FOCUS ON UNITY, DEVELOPMENT – STAKEHOLDERS TELL BASSEY, ESSIEN

Stakeholders of Uruan Local Government Area have tasked the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Senator Aniekan Bassey, and the State Commissioner for Internal Security, Gen. Koko Essien (rtd), to strive for the unity, development and progress of Uruan.

This was made known in Uyo on Thursday during the official presentation of the State Commissioner to the people of Uruan by Senator Bassey.

The stakeholders including the Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Iniobong Ekpenyong; Obong Offiong Akpabio; Engr. J.B Effiong; Obong Augustine Effiong and Obong Kingsley Orok urged Senator Bassey, who is the Political Leader of Uruan, and the State Commissioner to look away from distractions that are capable of causing division in the area.

They thanked Senator Bassey for showing unparalleled leadership in Uruan over the years and appealed to him to continue to be forward-looking, stand strong in playing the stabilizing and development-oriented role in the affairs of Uruan.

In his response, the Senator thanked the stakeholders and leaders of Uruan for the honour done him and the Commissioner and appealed to the people to give government a little time for impactful democratic dividends.

He maintained that the ARISE Agenda of the Umo Eno-led administration has a lot in stock for Uruan and its people.

Some of the stakeholders at the meeting included the Vice Chairman of Uruan Local Government Council, Mrs. Uduak Udoenang; Leader of Uruan Legislative Council, Hon. Sunday Bassey; Chairman of Akwa Savings and Loans, Mr. Ime Okon; Councillors; Supervisors; Dr Eventus Edem; Prince Anthony Akan; State Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mrs. Meme Akpabio; Prince Inyang Atakpo; Obong Awawa Ekaenang; Inemesit Ita Essien; Uruan PDP Chapter Chairman, Hon. Sebastian Nkanga, Uruan PDP Ward Chairmen, Ward Leaders, former Local Government Council Chairmen, among others.
