Governor Udom Emmanuel has been commended for the introducing the Dakkada Philosophy which has reawakened the enterprising and creative consciousness of the Akwa Ibom people and projected them to their full potentials.
The Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr. Sam Edoho told reporters in his office that the principle of Dakkada was apt, as it has reinvented the tradition of pace setting for which the Akwa Ibom people were renowned.
Mr. Edoho was excited at the feat recorded over the weekend by an Akwa Ibom son, Mfon Udoh, a footballer who scored a hat trick for his club, Enyimba International of Aba at the first leg second round CAF Champions League match against Tunisian side Ettoile de Sahel in Port Harcourt.
He said that scoring three unreplied goals, the first by any Nigerian footballer at that level of continental football in Africa shows that Akwa Ibom people are trail blazers.
He congratulated Enyimba International of Aba on the victory and likened Mfon Udoh’s feat with the typical Akwa Ibom “can do” spirit which had previously seen to the emergence of the likes of Chief Clement Isong, Brigadier Gen. Wellington Bassey, Sir Udo Udoma among others.
The brand management professional said he was impressed by the reception accorded the Dakkada Philosophy by the people of the state, adding that several indigenes of the state have come out to express their support to the philosophy.
Mr. Edoho maintained that in their awareness campaign tours to the federal constituencies in the state, farmers, traders, entrepreneurs and other successful indigenes take turn to inspire the gatherings and encourage people to be self-reliant, creative, hardworking and faithful to God in order to succeed.
So far, the awareness tour by the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management has anchored in Eket, Ikot Ekpene, Abak, Oron, Etinan and Itu Federal Constituencies.
