UDOM, CAN CELEBRATE BISHOP CLETUS BASSEY

Governor Udom Emmanuel has applauded the
conceptualization of a Mega Prayer City Project in the state by the out gone Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of Christian Association Of Nigeria(CAN), Arch Bishop Cletus Bassey, saying that the State named after God deserves a befitting altar which would serve as a rallying point for Interdenominational Christian activities.
The State Governor stated this during a thanksgiving service and
ground breaking ceremony of the World Prayer City held at Destiny
Int’l Missions, Ewet Housng Estate, Uyo.
Governor Emmanuel, who acknowledged the contributions of CAN and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), said the challenges of the present day society call for strengthening of Faith-Based Institutions and lauded the Christian Organisations for fostering the unity of the Church and ensuring that the Church is devoid of doctrinal variations.
Mr. Emmanuel particularly lauded the out gone CAN Chairman, Arch.
Bishop Cletus Bassey, for his outstanding leadership and sustenance of the ambience of unity among Church leaders during his tenure.
He applauded the Christian body for their unwavering support and
prayers for his emergence as the State Governor and for being a
dependable alley in the implementation of the programmes of his
administration.
The Governor expressed appreciation to CAN for a smooth change of
Baton and congratulated the new Exco under the leadership of Dr.
Ndueso Ekwere and wished them a hitch free tenure.

The celebrator, Arch Bishop Cletus Bassey, said the 5000 world-class Prayer City is designed as a place of worship for
every Christian irrespective of religious affiliation, adding that the
edifice would facilitate the propagation of the word of God even as
Christians would seek the face of God and receive solutions to life
challenges.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Udom Emmanuel for partnering the church in the administration of the state and prayed for divine
guidance and blessing throughout his reign.
In an exhortation taken from the book of Exodus, Chapter 25 and verses 2-8, Rev Uma Ukpai said “no man serves God diligently without a reward” and enjoined all Christians to be serious with evangelism and not to leave it to Pastors and Churches noting that the great commission was for all faithful irrespective of denomination, tribe or creed.
The Cleric said the requirement for a fair understanding of the
operations of God is an in-depth study of the word under an apostolic
leadership and impartation and use the occasion to congratulate the
out gone leadership of CAN for their dedication and commitment to the
service of the Lord Jesus.
In his remarks, the new CAN Chairman, Dr. Ndueso Ekwere, said the mission of the new team is to break new grounds and accomplish the programmes and vision of the last leadership and sued for prayers, counsel and cooperation from all to fulfil the obligations.
Highpoint of the Service was the symbolic flag off of the proposed
Mega Prayer City to be sited at Idu – Uruan, Uruan Local Government Area.
