TROPICANA REOPENING: AKHA SPEAKER HAILS GOV. EMMANUEL’S PRUDENT MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES

Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has commended Governor Udom Emmanuel over prudent management of resources which has led to accelerated transformation across the state.

Speaking at the Grand Opening of Tropicana Mall in Uyo by the State Governor on Thursday, the Speaker pointed out that the State Chief Executive has judiciously utilised funds appropriated to the Executive by the State House of Assembly.

“Your Excellency, I thank you because you’ve made good use of all the monies appropriated to you by the State Assembly. If you didn’t do so, we would have told you. You have brought the thoughts and imaginations of naysayers to nothing. People thought that you politicise everything concerning infrastructural development in the state, but you have brought that imagination to nothing”, he said.

With the opening of the Tropicana Mall, the Lawmaker noted that the Governor has created more employment opportunities and boosted the growth of young businesses in the state.

“This project started in 2008 but you thought it wise to bring succor to Akwa Ibom people by completing the project. I believe what has been done here (at the Tropicana) will transcend in so many ways to the potentials of every growing business in the state” the Speaker added.

In his remarks, Governor Emmanuel noted that the opening of the Tropicana Mall has created over 600 jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in the state.

The Governor further announced his intentions to complete other parts of the Tropicana Entertainment Centre before the expiration of his tenure in 2023.

The event had in attendance the Wife of the Governor, Mrs Martha Emmanuel, Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, former Governor of Imo State, Mr Emeka Ihedioha and other high profile dignitaries across the state.
