For the people of Ward-5, particularly those in Ikot Ekop in Ibiono Ibom and its environs, the indelible gesture of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Special Assistant on Trade and Market Matters, Akparawa Idorenyin Raphael, through massive road grading will be for a long time.
The people, who expressed appreciation to the Governor for his fatherly love and magnanimity, said the democratic dividends brought to them through Akparawa Raphael have given them a new perception about government and governance.
According to the people, “we are delighted to see government and governance get to us in this manner. The Governor has really demystified government. He has proven to us that government cares and can work. God will continually bless Governor Udom Emmanuel. We want to assure him that we will support and stand by him all the way.”
In his remarks, Akparawa Raphael said the gesture and the idea of connecting Ikot Ekop to Akwa Ibom through massive road grading was his own way of exemplifying Governor Udom Emmanuel to his people.
As the work enters Day-3, the Special Assistant on Trade and Market Matters said he will continue to take governance and the gospel of Governor Udom Emmanuel to the people.
Akparawa Raphael appealed to the people of the area to rise up and own government and be responsible citizens so as to enjoy more democratic dividends.
