NIGERIA OWES EKET SENATORIAL DISTRICT ACCESS TO OPPORTUNITY –EKONG SAMPSON

The Special Adviser on Political, Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, Barrister Ekong Sampson while addressing Executives of Eket Senatorial District Youth Assembly (ESDYA) commended the youths for their role in maintaining the peaceful atmosphere in the area, which has allowed for thriving economic activities.
The Special Adviser said Akwa Ibom State, particularly Eket Senatorial District, has been the most peaceful area in the oil-rich Niger Delta region and the economic nucleus of the nation.
He advocated that for a people so richly endowed, yet peaceful enough to allow thriving of economic activities, Nigeria as a nation owes them access to opportunity. This, he said, will be demonstrated by Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria indeed giving Eket Senatorial District the required support for continuity of Governor Udom Emmanuel in office for 8 years, as the rotation has been.
This positive disposition of the people of this district and their enormous contribution to the economy of the federation should not go unrewarded, Ekong Sampson added.
Barrister Sampson said “Governor Udom Emmanuel has obviously exemplified good governance, competence and capacity which qualifies him as the right person to help drive this opportunity for the people of his Senatorial District. That is why he must be allowed to complete the same 8 years that others did. Let the relay continue!”
Permanent Secretary in the Bureau, Mr. Nse Edem also commended the ESDYA for their commitment to the Governor Udom Emmanuel’s re-election. He said God has always blessed Eket Senatorial District with great leaders from the days of South-Eastern State, also pointing out that they have always been at the centre of Akwa Ibom political affairs.
Mr. Nse Edem told Eket Senatorial District Youth Assembly that the relay which started with Victor Attah, then Godswill Akpabio has come to Udom Emmanuel’s turn. All other parts of Akwa Ibom are with you, it is now in your hand to prove your staunchness by protecting your mandate.
Hon. Joe Mbong enumerated the achievements as an apex socio-political group in the area to include youth mobilization and rallies, fostering unity and educating youths against unwholesome practices.
He declared the resolve of ESDYA to take responsibility of ensuring Governor Udom Emmanuel remains in office till 2023.
