NDDC Sole Administrator Relieved of Appointment

President Muhamadu Buhari has relieved the Sole Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Effiong Akwa of his appointment.

In a statement by the Director of Press, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Patricia Deworitshe, the President has also approved the constitution of a management team and Governing Board, in accordance with Section 5 (2) of the Act setting up the commission.

Though the reason for Akwa’s disengagement was not stated in the statement, it is believed the extension accorded him to carry out the Forensic audit by the President on the commission has expired.
