Special Adviser to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Political and Legislative Affairs, Barrister Ekong Sampson, has described a trending online news item titled, “Ekong Sampson, Otobong Ndem, Council Chair Plan Protest Against Governor Udom, as ridiculous.
A statement signed by his Chief Information Officer, Mr. Edifon Abasi-Obot, said “It is ridiculous to link Barrister Ekong Sampson to a ‘protest’ he logically could never have been part of. At least one of the nominees for appointment as Supervisor/Special Adviser in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area came directly from Barrister Ekong Sampson. How can he, then, organize a protest against his own nominee?”
“Whatever happens in Mkpat Enin – from an accident in Ikot Akpaden to rainfall in Ibekwe Akpanya – is invariably linked to Barrister Ekong Sampson. The concocters of this clearly unintelligent spin tale and sponsored blackmail should seek God’s mercy for their mischief.”
“In case they forgot, Barrister Ekong Sampson has unhindered access to the power sources in this State and does not need to plan such ‘protest’ to prove any point,” the statement concluded.
