LOCKDOWN IS STILL IN FORCE IN A’IBOM – CHARLES UDOH

The Commissioner of Information, Sir Charles Udoh has emphasized that, as far as the Quarantine and Restriction of Movement Regulation 2020 is still in place, the lockdown directive of government is fully in force in Akwa Ibom State until otherwise announced.

Recall that, the lockdown directive became imperative as a major part of measures by government to stem the spread of Corona Virus and keep Akwa Ibom State free of the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.

It is a very critical period in the history of mankind which requires the collective support and cooperation of all to attain the success desirous of government especially in consideration of the enormous resources invested in the fight against Corona Virus and the damaging consequences in not taking preventive and cautionary measures against COVID-19.

In order to drum home the necessity of the Lockdown order by Akwa Ibom State government, the Information Boss, Sir Udoh, has deemed it expedient to draw the attention of the public to the lessons of history of a near COVID-19 case which occured in 1918 – the Spanish Flu.

While members of the public get saturated with the content of the lessons below, we pray such consequences do not befall Akwa Ibom people, even as the public is urged to be law abiding and adhere to the lockdown directives for the benefit of the people.
