Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area are intensifying campaigns for candidate of the Party, Elder Aniekan Uko, ahead of the State Constituency’s election rerun.
Today, the transition committee chairman of the Local Government Area, Elder Ita Udombon met with youths, women and elders of Ikot Ambon to solicit their support for Elder Aniekan Uko for the March 12, election.
Udombon told the convocation to replicate the kind of support given Elder Aniekan Uko during last year’s election.
He recalled that Aniekan Uko provided effective representation as Speaker of the House of Assembly before his election was nullified by an appellate court.
The transition chairman said the former Speaker broke a record in youth empowerment during his six months stay in the House of Assembly.
“Aniekan Uko did well within six months. He gave out 12 brand new cars, 20 motorcycles and other empowerment packages. We have not forgotten that his wife also donated sewing machines, hair dryers and cash to women. If he is allowed another opportunity, I think he will do well”.
Udombon appealed to the youths to remain loyal to the political leadership of Prince Uwem Ita Etuk, assured them that PDP and Elder Aniekan Uko will not disappoint them.
