To encourage academic excellence, complement Governor Udom Emmanuel’s educational thrust and give back to the society, the Akwa Ibom State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Comrade Ini Ememobong, accompanied by members of the ‘2000 Class,’ presented School Uniform set to students of his alma maters, St Mary’s Science College.
Comrade Ememobong said he would not have attained the height he was but for the discipline and excellence instilled in him by St Mary’s Science College, Ediene-Abak, stressing that “the school molded me to whatever I am today.”
He said Nigeria was at the verge of taking a major decision through the general elections and called on the teachers and students of the college to join his party, the PDP, to vote and get it right.
While charging the students to continually toe the path of excellence, Comrade Ememobong informed the Management that the ‘2000 Class’ will partner with the school to retain its known glory.
Responding, the Principal General, Mr. Isidore Udonnah, thanked Comrade Ememobong and the ‘2000 Class’ for their immeasurable support and contributions to the school.
He charged students of the school to emulate the ‘2000 Class’ and be good ambassadors to the world.
Also speaking, Mr. Michael Udofia (C-Boy), said “philanthropy is not a function of how well you are but a function of how much you love your people and this Comrade Ememobong and members of the ‘2000 Class’ have truly shown.”
He likened Comrade Ememobong gestures to the Biblical Docas and said he (Ini Ememobong) will never be stranded in life.
Others who spoke including the Chief of Staff to Abak Local Government Council Chairman, Emase William; the Vice Principal Academic, Mrs. C. Umoh, and the Senior Prefect, Master Richard Okon, lauded Comrade Ememobong and ‘2000 Class’ for putting smiles on the faces of the students.
