IKOT EKPENE AGOG AS SAMUEL UKUT CONSULTS PDP CHAPTER EXECUTIVES

History was made today at Ikot Ekpene PDP Chapter Office when Chapter Executives and members of the party across the length and breadth of the Eleven (11) Wards in the Local Government Area gathered in audience to receive the Incoming Chairman of Ikot Ekpene LGA, Hon. Samuel Alexander Ukut.

The Chairmanship hopeful having been sufficiently prepared for leadership, fullfilled the first prerequisite for actualisation of his partnership project (IPP) with Ikot Ekpene people, by consulting the Executives of the ruling party in the Local Government that he intends to lead.

Today’s consultative visit was one for the history books. It was really a day to remember at Ikono Road, Ikot Ekpene. The high point of Samuel Ukut’s visit was when he surprisingly donated generously to assist in the completion of the Secretariat building.

Excitement rented the air when Hon. Ukut rekindled the good old memories of foundational leaders from his own Ward 7, including the evergreen memory of Hon. Sunny Ibuot who had raised the bar of performance during his tenure as Ikot Ekpene Chairman. Ukut then pledged to build on such records and work assiduously to surpass it.

The Chapter Chairman of the Party Chief Andrew Ekerette while declaring the meeting open, remarked that in as much as party politics is concerned, the leadership of the party in the State level had directed that an open door policy should be operated upon in welcoming all aspirants from the party who have taken steps to actualize their ambitions through the PDP.

Otuekong Denis Nyoroh in his introductory speech, took time to highlight the core ideologies that drives the Ikot Ekpene Partnership Project (IPP). He substantiated his points with the three (3) innovative solutions that were recently proferred and actualised by Hon. Samuel Ukut to bring smiles to the faces of Ikot Ekpene people namely: i) Organization of Extramural lessons for Secondary School Students in Ikot Ekpene, ii) Massive Enrollment of Ikot Ekpene indigenes with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), and iii) Voluntary Lawn Mowing in thirteen (13) selected Schools which all received widespread commendations from eminent personalities and institutions in Ikot Ekpene.

Agreeably, the visit was a very symbolic one. It heralded a new beginning in the developmental history of the Local Government Area. No wonder Samuel Ukut received a loud ovation when he pledged to build a standard PDP Chapter Office deserving of a long standing and united Chapter like Ikot Ekpene upon assumption of Office by the special grace of God. He re-echoed the values driving his vision and thanked them for the warm reception.

The event was brought to a close with an appreciative remarks and blessings from the Financial Secretary of the party, Mr. Aniefiok Ekarika, who admonished that God will guide Hon. Ukut to the realisation of his ambition for the greater good of the party and the development of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area at large.

In attendance were the complete Chapter Executives, and a cross section of Ward Chairmen/Representatives who played host to members of Ikot Ekpene Partnership Project ably led by Hon. Samuel Ukut in a grand style.
