IKONO/INI REPS CANDIDATE PROMISE POPULIST BILLS IN 2019


Ahead of the 2019 general elections, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Ikono/INI House of Representatives seat, Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, has pledged to see to the enactment of people-oriented laws to promote good governance and accelerated development in Akwa Ibom, particularly in Ikono and INI Local Government Areas.

To this end, the philanthropist and National Assembly hopeful said he will hit the ground running if elected to represent the area in the forthcoming elections.
Obong Ukpong-Udo spoke with newsmen on the sidelines of an event on Sunday in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
In his comment, Obong Ukpong-Udo said “I have penciled down my blueprint for the National Assembly,” promising that it would be completely people-oriented.
“If elected, my tenure will not only keep faith with the subsisting contract with the people of Ikono and INI Local Government Areas, but will greatly add upon it. My tenure will be full of activities. The people of Ikono/INI Federal Constituency should expect better representation and bills that will make the area and Akwa Ibom a superb place to live,” he said.
While commending Governor Udom Emmanuel for what he called exemplary leadership, Obong Ukpong-Udo said, “I have sworn not to compromise the mandate that will be given to me by PDP and the people of Ikono/INI.”
He reiterated his non-compromising stance since the inception of PDP in the state and supporters and people of the area to be faithful in their support, commitment, dedication, steadfastness and allegiance to the Udom Emmanuel’s administration and PDP.
Speaking further, Obong Ukpong-Udo said, “I must thank the media for the unalloyed support I have enjoyed. I am where I am today because the media made me. Without the media, my noble course would not have come this far. I commend you guys for doing your duties well and I will continue to appreciate you.”
“Like Oliver Twist, I want to ask for more of your support, show of love and commitment to this noble course and together, we will move it to enviable heights,” he added.
