Youths of Ibeno local Government Area under the aegis of Upenekang Youths Association (UYA) have expressed warm congratulations to their Political Leader/Grand Patron, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, for his “well-deserved emergence as the candidate of the PDP for Eket/Esit Eket/ONNA/Ibeno Federal Constituency during the party’s Federal Constituency primary in the state.”
Recall that Rt. Hon. Etteh, who was elected by the delegates of Eket/Esit Eket/ONNA/Ibeno Federal Constituency on Sunday, May 22, 2022, got 103 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Mr. David Lawrence, who scored 27 votes.
A statement signed by President and Secretary General of UYA, Barrister Martins Asukpa and Comrade Usen Eshiet Okon, said “it is our belief and sincere prayers that upon your electoral victory in the upcoming 2023 General Elections, which is totally non-negotiable, our Federal Constituency will in earnest, witness an unimaginable inflow of constituency projects, progress and sustainable peace throughout your tenure in office at the Green Chambers.”
The statement also commended the democratic process that led to the emergence of Rt. Hon. Etteh, maintaining that his persona has remained overwhelming and his goodwill unprecedented “and the people of the area know him and are comfortable with him.”
UPA also assured that Rt. Hon. Etteh will bring his wealth of experience in the state legislature and his political life to bear at the Green Chambers for the benefit of the people of the Federal Constituency, Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
The group further thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel, stakeholders and delegates of the PDP for the confidence, solidarity and support they gave their Political Leader/Grand Patron to fly the PDP flag in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly in 2023.
