GOV EMMANUEL TASK LEADERS TO BEQUEATH POSITIVE LEGACIES FOR POSTERITY

Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel has attributed the elevation of Major General Isidore Henry Edet to the high echelon in his Military career to God’s benevolence and commitment to duty.

The Governor stated this during a family thanksgiving service organised by General Edet at St Peters Parish, Uko Akpan Ewang, Mbo Local Government Area to appreciate God on his benevolence.

He congratulated Major General Edet and noted that his success is a clear case of determination for greatness in line with the administration’s social re-orientation DAKAADA philosophy.

Governor Emmanuel challenged the youths to emulate the zeal of greatness exemplified by the General in all their endeavours and expressed optimism that Akwa Ibom son would rise to the highest position not only in the Military career but in other fields of endeavour.

He particularly expressed appreciation to the Army General, who like the Centurion in the Bible, built a befitting place of worship for the Lord and pledged to identify with the project.

The State Chief Executive used the occasion to shed light on the Ibom Deep Seaport project and the Ibom Industrial City saying that the project is an outline business case in the International Maritime and that the project is undergoing documentation with the relevant agencies of Government and assured the people of his administration’s commitment to develop the state through standard best practice.

Earlier the celebrator Major General Edet testified to God’s faithfulness from cradle and cherished the moral seed planted early in his life by his parents their humble background notwithstanding.

As a show of gratitude to God and his parents, General Edet said he decided to build a befitting place of worship as the church, St. Peters Quasi parish, built in 1928 has become too small to accommodate the ever increasing number of worshipers.

He added that the model classroom block to be constructed for the Church Nursery School is his modest contribution to educational advancement and called on the guest to support the project.

The thanksgiving service, officiated by the Vicar Apostolic, Catholic Vicariate of kontagara,
Most Rev. Dr Bulus Dauwa Yohanna was attended by top Military brass, Captains of Industries, Service Chiefs, Political Stakeholders and Community Leaders.
