Governor Udom Emmanuel is building Akwa Ibom into a safe, conducive and inviting abode to attract Nigerians and the international community to come, live and invest.
With this vision, Akwa Ibom State boasts of the best airline ” Ibomair”, with the youngest fleet of aircrafts in the Nigerian skies, the serene Ibom Hotels with the best greenery Golf Resort, tourists attractions and antiquities of global acclaim such as: the Amalgamation house, where Lord Lugard signed the treaty, the oldest Qua Iboe church building in Ibeno as well as relics of the slave trade and abolition of the killing of twins.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong stated these, earlier today, Tuesday, December 2, 2020, while playing host to the Big Brother Naija Season 5 winner and Gotv Ambassador Olamilekan Moshood Agbeleshe popularly known as LAYCON, who paid him a courtesy call.
Comrade Ini Ememobong who welcomed Laycon and his team to the Ministry of Information and Strategy in particular and Akwa Ibom State in general, said, Akwa Ibom stands out in Tourism, adding that, the state is the most peaceful and safest as well as being Nigeria’s cuisine capital.
He expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Reality TV personality, singer and songwriter and his Gotv team for the choice of Akwa Ibom for their nationwide tour, which he said is not misplaced, based on the inherent attractions of the state, emphasizing that, Akwa Ibom is known nationally for its indigenous hospitality.
The State Spokesman congratulated Laycon on his assumption of duties as the GOtv Ambassador and urged him to look out for ways of investing in the state by constructing his music studio in the state, disclosing that the cost of doing business in Akwa Ibom is a lot cheaper than what is tenable in Lagos and in other states.
While wishing Laycon and his team a successful tour of the state, the Information helmsman wished the BB Naija Star, Laycon, a scandal-free tenure.
In their seperate speeches, Laycon said, he was in the state on a promotional tour of Gotv Special Jolly package, as the Ambassador of GOtv, while the Regional Consumer Manager of GOtv South/South, Chinagorom Ekwonwa, said, Akwa Ibom was chosen as the second state to be toured, among the selected five states in Nigeria, based on the peaceful attributes and tourists attractions of the state.
Laycon was accompanied on the visit by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Mr. David Sargent, (alias Utang Akwa Ibom), SA on Talents Hunt, Mr. Emmanuel Owuala, (alias Emma Solution) Sir James, Ikpa Udo, Nelson Nseabasi, and other members of the Akwa Ibom entertainment community.
The celebrity who is spending two days in the state is expected to perform at the opening ceremony of the Christmas Village in the state, later in the day.
In attendance at the courtesy call were: the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Inyang Jameson, Directors in the Ministry including: that of Information, Akparawa James Edet, Public Relations, Mrs. Grace Akpan, Strategy, Mr. Joseph Etem, Administration, Tiuba Nduonofit, Archives, Mr. Edet Nsungwara, PRS, Peter Antai as well as the Chairman of the Information chapel of NUJ, Comrade Esther Effiong.
Highlight of the visit, was the presentation of a publication of the Ministry, “Impact magazine” as well as other mementos on Governor Udom Emmanuel and the Completion Agenda to Laycon by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong.
