CABINET RESHUFFLE: UDOM APPOINTS AKPABIO, BASSEY COMMISSIONERS

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, who will likely sack two non-performing Commissioners in his cabinet, has nominated Barrister Ibanga Akpabio and Barrister Victor Bassey for the position of Commissioners in the state executive council.

Barrister Ibanga Akpabio, younger brother to Udom’s predecessor and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, is currently serving as Deputy Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Akpabio’s name and that of the second nominee, Barrister Victor Bassey, were read on the floor of the House on Tuesday and subsequently forwarded to the House Committee on Judiciary, Justice, Human Rights and Public Petitions for appropriate action.

Our reporter also confirmed that the Governor has earlier sent the name of Mr. Umana Sam Umana as nominee for the position of Chairman, State Secondary Education Board.
Mr. Umana, according to our reporter, is to take the place of the late Imo Udobia who died few months ago.
