To further confirm the readiness of Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) towards the 2019 general election, Chairman of its Congress, Chief Noble Akenge, FNES, has commended Governor Udom Emmanuel and the State Chairman of the Party, Obong Paul Ekpo, over the successful conduct of the Ward Congresses across the state.
In his remarks, Chief Akenge, who led a team of national officers of the party to monitor the Ward Congresses, said “What I have seen today is a true essence of what PDP represents. I have seen internal democracy, politics of inclusiveness and togetherness.”
He also commended the people for their show of love and maturity before, during and after the exercise, saying their presence has further convince him of the good done in the state by PDP.
Speaking, Obong Ekpo thanked the people for the peaceful congress and urged those nominated to ensure true “dividends of democracy are reflected in the lives of others.”
Ward centres visited included Awa Ward-1 in ONNA Local Government Area where Mercy Aniedi (288), Inyang Sunday (275) and Ubong Ekefre (315) emerged winners and Awa Ntong in Southern Iman Ward-1 in Etinan Local Government Area where Elizabeth Obot (112), Usenobong Uwanta (122) and Utin Utin (101) emerged winners among others.
