The Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged citizens and resodents of the state to protect their permanent Voter Card (PVC) at all cost.
A press statement, captioned “Keep your PVC safe,” and made available to newsmen on Monday, the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Ini Ememobong, said “We have received reports of some persons who are touring villages and rural areas in Akwa Ibom state distributing ‘empowerment forms’ wherein the unsuspecting people are asked to supply their PVC numbers and also physically present same in exchange for an amount of money tagged empowerment.”
The statement further said, “In the light of the above, we charge all citizens to be on alert for such persons and to keep their PVC safe. Electorates should also refuse to supply their PVC numbers or their PVC for scanning by any body . The PVC must be properly preserved by the owners, to avoid damages to the surface which may lead to the machine rejecting the card.”
