…Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Youth Leaders Tell Ekperikpe

The Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum, in charge of Gas Resources, Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo KSJ, received in audience a high powered delegation of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Youth Leaders at his private residence on Monday.

The group leaders thanked the Knight of Saint John for taking out time despite his busy schedule and itinerary as Nigeria’s gas czar to meet with them.

They went down memory lane to remind him that they have not forgotten those days of little beginning, when as a budding politician and grassroots mobiliser, he always counselled them to make choices in life with the future in mind.

“Today, many of our peers with requisite qualification are climbing the ladder of public service in Nigeria because of you. We are all over the place, in ITF, SON, NCS, just name it. We know your antecedents in public office,” Mr. Israel Udo made the appraisal while speaking on behalf of his associates.

“It is understandable that you are always interested in career and human capital development with your background as a career teacher. And now that you’re here in the gas sector, we are confident that you’ll not only give fish but will teach us how to fish in that area,“ he added.

The Minister in his remarks was full of praise for the choices youth of the districts have made to better their lives and further the development of the society. He said he looked forward to seeing more of the young men and women within the district become meaningfully engaged under the Tinubu administration.

“There are new opportunities under this administration. Get involved. I want to see more of our young men and women plying their trade with honour and character. Whatever you’re doing, do it well. Get involved in legitimate ventures and help is just a stone throw away. You know me. I am ready to help you succeed,” he charged the youth leaders.
