Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, one of Nigeria’s pride in Safety Management, who is also reputed for his boundless philanthropic nature, is working tirelessly to raise the bar in the scheme of offering selfless services to the people Ikono/INI Federal Constituency, whom he seek to represent in the House of Representatives by 2019.
For Obong Ukpong-Udo, fondly called Macaire, the act of giving should be a continuous process of circulation of milk of kindness and his philosophy to life has been premised on the understanding that for one to receive, someone else has to give, the latter role he has long assumed for decades now.
As you read this piece, Obong Ukpong-Udo has again extended his milk of kindness to Emmanuel Michael Ekpenyong, who hails from Ward-8 in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, whom he met a day ago. Little wonder it is said that Macaire’s passion for humanity is second to none.
According to testimonies from those that have enjoyed Macaire’s benevolence, “you never went back the same way you visited Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo. He would guarantee your comfort and ensure a fitting return home.” For Emmanuel Michael Ekpenyong who came in contact with Macaire a day ago and requested for mobility to aid his trading business, a brand new motorcycle was handed over to him by Obong Ukpong-Udo through the Director General, Mkpoikana-Abasi Campaign Organization, Barr. Edet Inyangidim, a day after.
Interestingly, as Macaire’s philanthropic disposition continues to resonate across the length and breadth of Akwa Ibom State, the people of Ikono and INI Local Government Areas have elected him through a primary conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for higher responsibility in the House of Representatives, a feat that has stirred huge clamour from friends, well wishers, political support groups, elders and stakeholders of Ikono and INI Local Government Areas.
The position of those that made up Macaire’s support base, particularly the people of Ikono and INI Local Government Areas, is that the time has come to have him represent them in the Green Chambers.
Obong Ukpong-Udo, who is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree at Middlesex University, England, United Kingdom, holds a Master of Science Degree in Occupational and Environment Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Chemistry from the University of Uyo.
He attended Presbyterian Primary School (PCN) Edem Urua/Itu Andem in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, and later the Prestigious Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) and Senior Secondary Certificate (SSCE) respectively.
He has attended several other institutions and reached the apex of the academic hierarchy, a feat that has deciphered him in his career. Some of the institution and courses attended include Rapid Results College, London (NEBOSH); University of Leeds, United Kingdom (Fire and Explosion Engineering), and University of Sheffield, United Kingdom (Process Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering).
