WHY I’M NOT IN SUPPORT OF NSIMA’S AMBITION –UMANA UMANA

The Managing Director of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), Obong Umana Okon Umana, has disclosed that he is not in support of the governorship ambition of the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Nsima Ekere, in forthcoming general elections.

He vowed not to contribute a penny towards Nsima Ekere’s 2019 bid for Akwa Ibom Governorship despite allowing his Ewet Housing palatial residence for media meetings where lies and blackmails are churned out against the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel.

Dropping the hint while exchanging views with newsmen, one of Umana’s media men who did want his name on print, said that when he (Umana) was running his campaigns in 2015, Ekere’s financial contribution was negligence, and that even when he joined the G22 and made it G22 plus as to invest heavily in his election since Ekere was not running, only for him to be disappointed by the former Deputy Governor’s nonchalant attitude towards his ambition.

Umana noted that he spent his life fortune on that election and till date, he is still paying heavily to clear the debts he ran into as a result of that election.

It was learnt that the former Secretary to State Government had in an interaction with some of his key men, described Nsima’s ambition as an exercise that will only attract lip services from him because he is out for selfish interest.

It was further gathered that upon assumption of duty as MD/CEO of NDDC, Nsima has relegated Umana’s men to the background and promoted others from other camps.

Meanwhile, there are strong indications that Umana Okon Umana has made drastic moves to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as he has been meeting with representatives of the Akwa Ibom State Government over his support towards the reelection of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Reliable sources disclosed that the meetings have generated positive results and it is a matter of understanding that both camps will reach a common front, as the feedbacks have been something to write home about.

However, when contacted, Umana’s spokesperson, Iboro Otongaran, declined to comment on the matter for fear of running into trouble with Nsima Ekere and his men.
