Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Victor Antai, has reactivated the alleged long-lost heritage and contemporary arts of Akwa Ibom through creativity, innovation and exhibition show of magnificence, Usoro Uso.
The event, according to the Culture and Tourism Commissioner, promises to showcase array of artifacts from countless forms of human making; paintings, drawings, crafts, sculpture, performances and interactive art from the very best of contemporary Akwa Ibom and Nigerian artists.
Ibom Telegraph gathered that those expected to grace the event are Governor Udom Emmanuel; former Governor Victor Attah; veteran sculptor Bruce Onobrakpeya, Ben Essien, Nsikak Essien and Olu Amoda as well as Thin Tall Tony, Uriel, and Kemen of the Big Brother Nigeria.
Usoro Uso, which holds today at the Ibibio Unity Museum, Unity Park, Uyo, will be officially opened by Governor Emmanuel. on Thursday, June 8th, 2017 and will run till June 22nd, 2017.
Commissioner Antai, who informed that the epoch making event will run from today, Thursday, June 8, 2017 to Thursday, June 22, 2017, said “the focus of the event is tourism potentials of the amazing Akwa Ibom.”
