Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has congratulated Governor Udom Emmanuel on his “well-deserved victory at the 2019 Governorship Election Petition Tribunal”, saying “the judgement reflects the true will of the people of Akwa Ibom State.”
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the judgement, Rt. Hon. Bassey said the “victory of the Governor as declared by the tribunal is a testament and proof that the 520,163 votes, given by the people of Akwa Ibom in March, remained valid.”
He added that Governor Emmanuel has been legitimately given the mandate to continue with his policy thrusts and infrastructural development
While thanking the people of the state for their support, loyalty, dedication and commitment to the Udom Emmanuel’s administration, the Speaker called on members of the opposition to be positive partner in the Akwa Ibom Project and join hands in moving the state forward.
