A medical outreach organized by the Akwa Ibom State Government for indigenes and residents of the state has kicked off. The medical outreach tagged the “Udom Emmanuel Medical Revival” which is coordinated by the Akwa Ibom State Hospitals Management Board flagged off on Monday 11th February at Primary Health Centre, Ata Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam LGA for Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and will continue on Tuesday 12th February at the same venue while that of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency will hold from Wednesday 13th February – Thursday 14th February.
Commenting on the exercise, the Chairman of the State Hospitals Management Board, Dr Unyime David Udo-Umo expressed satisfaction over the turn out and reiterated the commitment of the medical team to handle all cases.
A schedule of the medical exercise released by the State Hospitals Management Board indicates the dates for each federal constituency as follows:
11th – 12th February – Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency holding at Health Centre,Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam LGA.
13th – 14th February – Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency holding at Grace Hospital , Utu Nsekhe Junction Etim Ekpo LGA and Eket/Onna/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency holding at Cottage Hospital, Ikot Eko Ibon, Onna LGA.
19th – 20th February – Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency and Oron/Mbo/Okobo/Urue Offong Oruko/Udung Uko Federal Constituencies simultaneously.
21st – 22nd February – Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency and Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituencies simultaneously.
25th – 26th February – Ikot Ekpene/Essien Udim/Obot Akara Federal Constituency and Ikot Abasi/Mkpat Enin/Eastern Obolo Federal Constituencies simultaneously.
27th – 28th February – Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Ibesikpo Asutan Federal Constituency.
Already, patients are benefiting from free medical services such as medical consultations/drug prescriptions, laboratory investigations, dispensing of drugs, eye screening and dispensing of glasses, public health talks, deworming exercise, HIV counselling/testing, and surgeries.
Residents of the aforementioned areas are hereby invited to attend the medical revival and benefit from free medical services.
