SOUTH-SOUTH SPEAKERS DECLARES SUPPORT FOR BRACED COMMISSION, CONGRATULATE ELECTED PDP ZONAL OFFICERS

Speakers of the State Houses of Assembly in the South-South region of Nigeria have congratulated the elected Zonal Officers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Speakers, under the aegis of South-South Speakers’ Forum, made this known in a press statement signed by its Chairman, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, shortly after the South-South Zonal Congress of the party held on Tuesday, 9th March, 2021 at Dr Obi Wali International Conference Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

“The Forum is optimistic that the elected Officers, having been tested and found worthy – in acting capacities – would justify the confidence reposed in them by working to ensure that the PDP, the only true national Party with presence across the six geopolitical zones of the country, remains a formidable and enviable political platform,” the statement stated.

The Forum also declares its uncompromising support for the BRACED Commission in furtherance of collaboration and integration for socio-economic and infrastructural development of the region.

The statement further said “In view of the worsening economic and security situation in the country, the Forum notes that PDP, with feasible blueprint, remains the Nation’s only hope of recovery and encourage people of the region and indeed all Nigerians to continue to support PDP.”
