As Akwa Ibom State marks its 37th anniversary of creation, Senator Aniekan Bassey (SAB) of the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District has extended heartfelt congratulations to the state and its people.

Senator Bassey, in a statement on Monday, lauded the state’s progress over the years, particularly highlighting the achievements of the Governor Umo Eno-led administration.

“I sincerely celebrate our dear Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, and the entire people of Akwa Ibom State on this occasion of our 37th anniversary of state creation,” Senator Bassey stated.

He commended the state’s remarkable development under the leadership of successive Governors, emphasizing that the current administration has continued to steer the state toward unity, progress, and greater possibilities.

The Senator, the Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture Services and Rural Development, expressed optimism about the future, noting that the anniversary presents an opportunity to reflect on Akwa Ibom’s journey thus far and to look forward to even greater achievements.

“Today, I celebrate unity, progress, and endless possibilities. I celebrate Akwa Ibom State,” he added.

In addition to celebrating the state’s growth, Senator Bassey used the occasion to rally support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming local government elections.

He called on party stakeholders to stand firmly behind the PDP’s flag bearers across the state to secure victory at the polls.

“Let us ensure we stand by our party and deliver victory in the forthcoming elections. I urge everyone to shun vices and maintain peace throughout the election process,” Senator Bassey advised.

As Akwa Ibom continues to evolve, Senator Bassey’s message resonates with the spirit of progress and peace that has characterized the state since its creation in 1987.

His call for peaceful elections aligns with the aspirations of the people for continued stability and growth under the leadership of Governor Umo Eno.

Akwa Ibom State was created on September 23, 1987, and has since grown into a hub of development, industrialization, and unity in Nigeria’s South-South region. The state’s 37th anniversary provides a moment for celebration and reflection on the collective efforts that have contributed to its success.
