RIBADU HANDS OVER SENATORIAL TICKET TO GOV DANKWAMBO

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Gombe North senatorial district, Mohammed Usman Ribadu has handed over his ticket to Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.
He conceded to Dankwambo at a rally on Thursday to welcome Dankwambo back to Gombe.
The governor lost the PDP presidential ticket to former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, at the national convention in Porthacourt, the Rivers capital.
He polled 111 votes to finish 5th in the primaries.
Ribadu said he was stepping down to allow Dankwambo who he said is “more qualified to represent Gombe North at the senate”.
According to him, Dankwambo deserved to go to the senate because of his achievements in office.
Dankwambo had reportedly backed Ribadu to win the ticket in the event he lost the presidential primaries.
