RHAB-YESS PARTNERS MINISTRY OF TRADE AND INVESTMENT ON SMEs DEVELOPMENT

A social-welfare body, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey Youth Entrepreneurship Support Scheme (RHAB-YESS), has vowed to collaborate with relevant government Ministries, Department and Agencies, particularly the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Trade and Investment, on the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the state.

RHAB-YESS Manager, Mr. Godswill Bassey, who stated this on Wednesday during the Presentation of CAC Certificates and Seed Money by the Ministry of Trade and Investment to young entrepreneurs in the state, said “this partnership will allow us at RHAB-YESS to leverage on the many programmes of the Ministry of Trade and Investment in the area of enterprise development.”

Mr. Bassey commended the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Barrister Ukpong Akpabio, for helping beneficiaries of RHAB-YESS scheme to attain a proper business status through registration.

“Lack of organizational status and capabilities are the major impediment to development of SMEs and I know the opportunity offered us today by the Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Barrister Prince Akpabio, will certainly add value to our young entrepreneurs. It will help our beneficiaries to scale up and achieve more. I sincerely thank the Commissioner for keeping to his promise. We are really proud of him,” he said.

Explaining further to journalists, Mr. Bassey said “RHAB-YESS is an initiative of the Speaker of the 7th Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, designed to help young Akwa Ibom sons and daughters attain financial greatness. It is aimed at discovering, mentoring and supporting young entrepreneurs to financial greatness. The scheme complements Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Enterprise Development Drive.
