As Nigeria marks its 64th Independence Anniversary, Senator Aniekan Bassey of the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership in steering the nation through its democratic journey.
Senator Bassey, the Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development, in a goodwill message to commemorate Nigeria’s milestone on Monday, lauded Nigerians for their steadfastness and commitment to the ideals of unity, peace, and progress envisioned by the nation’s founding fathers.
He expressed optimism about the nation’s future, noting that the resilience and determination of Nigerians have remained the backbone of the country’s progress and prosperity.
Senator Bassey used the occasion of the Independence Day celebration to encourage Nigerians to continue supporting the government’s efforts to foster development and national harmony, emphasizing the importance of unity in overcoming the challenges ahead.
The Senator, in his goodwill message said, “Today, we honour the sacrifices of our heroes past and salute every Nigerian who, despite challenges, remains committed to the dreams of our forebears. President Tinubu’s leadership has brought renewed hope, and together, we shall achieve greater heights.”
Senator Bassey also used the occasion to call for continuous collaboration between government and citizens, reiterating that “the collective effort is key to Nigeria’s enduring progress and prosperity.”
