NDDC CHAIRMAN, MD, TOP MGT ARRIVE UYO FOR RETREAT

The Chairman, Governing Board of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mrs. Lauretta Onochie, the Managing Director, Chief Samuel Ogbokwu and other top management of NDDC have arrived Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, for a 3-day management retreat for Board members, their aides and top management of the Commission.

Onochie and her entourage were welcomed at the Victor Attah International Airport, by a delegation from the NDDC Akwa Ibom State Office, led by the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Emem Wilcox Wills, and conveyed to the prestigious Ibom Icon Hotels and Resort, venue of the event.

Meanwhile, according to a press release earlier signed by NDDC’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Ibitoye Abosede, Ph.D., the event with the theme “Repositioning NDDC for Effective Service Delivery to Make a Difference”, will acquaint Board members with activities of the Commission and equip with relevant information to perform their mandate successfully.

It could be recalled that the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Umana Okon Umana, on Wednesday January 4, 2023, inaugurated the Governing Board of NDDC, with President Buhari’s former Special Assistant on New Media, Lauretta Onochie, as the substantive chairman. She represents Delta State on the Board; Chief Samuel Ogbokwu from Bayelsa State will serve as the Managing Director of the Commission.
Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd) from Edo State, serves as the (Executive Director, Finance); and Charles Ogunmola from Ondo State, as Executive Director, Projects.
Others are Dr. Emem Willcox Wills (Akwa Ibom State); Dimgba Erugba (Abia State); Elder Denyanbofa Dimaro (Bayelsa State), Orok Duke (Cross River State) and Dr. Pius Odudu (Edo State).

Also on the Board are Anthony Ekenne (Imo State), Gbenga Edema (Ondo State), Elekwachi Dimkpa (Rivers State), Alhaji Mohammed Kabir Abubakar (Nasarawa State) representing North-Cenral zone), Alhaji Sadiq Sami Sule-Ikoh (Kebbi State, North-West) and Prof. Tahir Mamman, SAN, (Adamawa State, North-East).
