MNDA conducts free medical outreach in Nsit Ubium

In line with it’s cardinal objective, the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, MNDA, took it’s free medical outreach under her Healthcare Services policy to Nsit Ubium Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr Umana Umana, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Olufunso Adebiyi (FNSE), expressed satisfaction with the large turn out from members of the benefiting community.

He noted that it takes a peaceful environment like Nsit Ubium for development to thrive and reiterated the determination of the Ministry to attract developmental projects to the community as a means to improving the living conditions of the people.

Responding, the Chairman of Nsit Ubium LGA, Arc. Iniobong Orok, thanked Minister for the gesture and appreciated him for finding time to visit the health centre. He solicited for more of such intervention programmes and projects in the area.

Arc Orok commended the Minister for his love and care to the people of Nsit Ubium LGA, noting that the program is in line with the completion agenda of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, who he noted has built and renovated over hundred healthcare centers in Akwa Ibom State in line with his administration’s policy of repositioning the health-care sector especially the primary health sector in the state.

Reacting, some of the beneficiaries of the various health interventions, commended the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs for the initiative which they noted have gone a long way to bringing relief to them and restore them to good health. They explained that the intervention of the Ministry will go a long way to relieving them of the financial burden and cost they would have hitherto spend if they were to foot the medical bill of the surgery themselves.
