MINISTRY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND IBOM DEEP SEAPORT SEND-FORTH CORPS MEMBERS

In the spirit of the passing out exercise (POP) of Batch A corps members nationwide, the corpers who served in the Ministry of Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, were indeed moved with profound joy for the successful completion of their service year. This was evident in the send-forth ceremony held on Friday 19th February at the conference room of the Ministry.

The Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr. Akan Okon while addressing the outgoing Corps members, congratulated them for successfully completing their service year and also implored them to be good ambassadors that will always strive for excellence.

The Economic helmsman further charged them to be focused in life and equip themselves in various fields of endeavours in preparation for a rewarding post-service year.

“It is in the calendar of God for you to have completed one phase of your life. You should be grateful to God that you are alive today…”

Mr Okon who also encouraged them to work towards the future, pray for God’s protection and guidance. He wished them journey mercies back to their various destinations.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Effiong Ekpenyong who also graced the ceremony, on his part congratulated the corpers for their achievement and successful completion of their service year. He admonished them to sharpen up their skills, in order to be job providers instead job seekers and to also expand their horizons by not limiting their abilities.

In their response, the corps members appreciated the Management of the Ministry for the privilege to serve in the Ministry, and the warm reception accorded them during their service year.

Present also at the event was the NYSC Desk Officer in the Ministry, Mr. Iboro Ikpam.
