MBO COUNCIL CHAIRMAN DISSOCIATES SELF FROM ALLEGED MEDIA REPORT

Chairman of Mbo Local Governmet Council, Mr. Asukwo Eyo, has described the alleged media report of his motive to betray Governor Udom Emmanuel and pledge allegiance to Senator Godswill Akpabio as “falsehood to undermine his patriotism, steadfastness and commitment to the PDP.”
A statement from his media unit said “The attention of the Chairman of Mbo Local Government Council,  Hon. Asukwo Eyo has been drawn to an online publication on the 28th of September, 2018, captioned 2019: Isobara Betrays Udom, Pledges Allegiance To Akpabio In The Open.”
“The Chairman of Mbo, Hon. Asukwo Eyo is particular about paragraph five of the article which reports that “Others suspected to be in the same motive as Isobara are Chairman of Ikot Ekpene, Mbo and Udung Uko”. This is a clear falsehood to undermine Hon. Eyo whose patriotism,  steadfastness and commitment to the party that brought him to power as the Chairman of Mbo. The membership of the Chairman in PDP is intact and at no point has Hon. Eyo considered or contemplated to defect to APC. The Chairman hereby  called on the PDP family and the well informed public to disregard such  publication sponsored by people who think blackmail is the only way to make ends meet. He advised journalists and reporters to always verify information and authenticate same to be the obvious “truth”, which is one of the ethics of journalism,” the statement added.
The state concluded by saying “It could be recalled that sometime in August, 2018, the Chairman of Mbo Local Government Council, Hon. Asukwo Eyo during an enlarged Stakeholders meeting at Enwang endorsed His Excellency Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for second term and promised his total support and that of Mbo people to the Governor come 2019.”
