The Insight Newspaper Chapel of Akwa Ibom State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has today, Saturday, May 7, 2016, elected new set of executive to run the affairs of the union for three years.

The 3-man executive has Barr David Augustine as chairman; Bassey Willie – Vice Chairman and Anietie Esu – Secretary.
The remaining vacant offices will be filled through a bye-election.

The credential committee was led by Grace Anderson. The Observer was the state Treasurer, Uduak Ephraim.
The commissioner for oath was Barr Henry Ekanem.

Earlier, the contest was between Barrister David Augustine, who scored nine votes and Ekong Inyang, who scored eight votes.
