Indigenes and residents of Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency will be beneficiaries of a Medical Outreach courtesy of Barr. Edidiong Idiong, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the constituency in the 2019 general elections.
The outreach, which will hold for two days in the respective local government areas that make up the constituency, is in conjunction with Queeneth Initiative for Health and Education.
According to Mrs. Mmobong Queenette Imo Akpan, Executive Director of the Initiative, who doubles as the coordinator of the outreach, many communities face health dangers because they have little or no access to medical care and lack awareness on activities that culminate to health challenges.
The outreach, she said, will proffer solutions to several health challenges such as Hypertension, Cancer, Malaria, Anaemia, HIV/AIDS, Diabetes through Cancer Screening/Examination; Blood Pressure Determination/Consulting; Blood Sugar Determination/Consulting; HIV Testing/Referral; Eye Check up/Distribution of Glasses; Malaria Testing and Drug Administration.
The outreach, which will be flagged off by Barr. Edidiong Idiong at the Government Primary School, Ibiaku Ikot Ukana, Ikono LGA on November 29, 2018 by 10.00am prompt, will see Doctors and other Medical Personnel attend to scores of indigenes and residents of the constituency.
Barr. Idiong said the health of his people will remain his priority in the House of Representatives, because “without good health, the achievements of my other legislative agenda will be incapacitated.”
He therefore enjoined all indigenes and residents of Ikono and INI local government areas to take advantage of the outreach to positively position themselves for healthy living.
